In order to structure your project better in your project manager, you can create your own project states in the configuration. Click in the name area to change the name and use the column "Active" if you want that state to be displayed in the selection drop-down. If you don't use the status, set "Active" to "No", so they are not listed and you keep the program slim.
In the example below we should set the last 4 status to "Active" -> No, so they don't get listed.
